- Bruce Matulich - CEO & Executive Director
Bruce Matulich joined EGIA in 2003 as EGIA’s CEO and Executive Director and is responsible for the Association’s overall organizational management and strategic positioning.
For over 30 years, Bruce has been a thought leader in advancing resource efficiency services and has managed some of the most extensive residential and commercial energy efficiency and water conservation programs in the country.
Prior to joining EGIA, Bruce was Chief Operating Officer for Energy Innovation Group, an energy services company that works closely with local government, community based organizations and business associations to deliver integrated energy efficiency solutions.
He also served as Executive Vice President at MainStreet Networks, a manufacturer and utility services company delivering Automatic Meter Reading (AMR), On-Line Energy Management & Control and customized e-services to utility companies and their customers throughout North America.
Earlier, Bruce was the Marketing Director at CellNet Data Systems, a provider of wireless data communications enabling a wide range of on-line, real-time monitoring, control and automation applications for the utility and energy services industry.
Prior to joining CellNet Data Systems, Bruce spent 18 years at PG&E, leading the Company’s energy efficiency and demand response activities as Director of Energy Efficiency Services. At PG&E, Bruce was instrumental in creating the nations largest and diverse energy efficiency program. He provided management oversight for the development and delivery of over 80 residential, commercial, residential and agricultural energy efficiency and demand response programs. Bruce was PG&E’s chief spokesman on energy efficiency issues, a frequent presenter at national energy forums and witness before state utility commissions, federal agencies and congressional energy committees.
Bruce is a graduate of San Jose State University with degrees in Business Administration/ Marketing and Industrial Technology.

- Joe Calabrese - Chief Financial Officer
Joe Calabrese is EGIA’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing all of EGIA’s financial and accounting practices. Joe is responsible for preparing all final budgets and reports as well as directing EGIA’s financial strategy to ensure long-term organizational success and sustainability. In addition to overseeing EGIA’s financial management activities, Joe directs EGIA’s internal operations for all rebate processing programs to ensure that EGIA is delivering rebate processing services on time and on budget with maximum efficiency.

- Eric Howarth - Vice President, Contractor Services
As Vice President of Contractor Services, Eric is responsible for developing and executing EGIA’s overall contractor services strategy. Additionally, Eric manages contractor benefits programs that are designed to help EGIA’s 2,500+ contractor members grow their energy efficient and renewable energy businesses. Current contractor benefit programs include consumer financing, sales tools and training, business optimization programs as well as marketing and business development services. Eric has extensive sales, marketing and strategic partnering experience. Prior to joining EGIA, Eric held senior management positions in sales, marketing, and product development for a national big box retail chain.

- Stephen Michael Self - Vice President, Partner Relations
Stephen Michael Self is Vice President of Partner Relations and focuses on building and sustaining mutually rewarding and successful relationships with contractors, manufacturers, distributors and industry organizations. Stephen is responsible for developing partnering strategy and executing joint marketing plans that enhance delivery of energy efficient products and services into the marketplace. Stephen is also director of EGIA's Leadership Academy partnering with national training institutions to deliver webinars and business mentoring for contractor business development and business management activities.
Prior to joining EGIA, Stephen started and ran a home performance contracting business, Sustainable Interiors, based in Boulder, Colorado providing energy-efficient options and sustainable building products for remodeling and renovating existing buildings. As a General Contractor, RESNET HERS Rater, and BPI Building Analyst, Stephen successfully integrated and focused on energy-efficiency and improved indoor-air-quality.
As principal of Able Ideas Consulting, Stephen has organized and built a mentoring program for energy auditors, general contractors, building trades and home performance contractors serving community non-profits, seniors and veterans. Stephen presents nationally on topics ranging from energy efficiency, green building, sustainable business practices, comprehensive energy legislation and AIA CES programs. Stephen is instrumental in helping to create change in organizations transitioning into the new energy economy or expanding existing sustainability initiatives.
Stephen has a Master’s in Classics from St. John’s College Graduate Institute and studied Cognitive Science as an undergraduate at the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to university, Stephen served as a United States Marine.

- Ed Thomas - Vice President, Utility and Government Relations
Ed is responsible for the design and implementation of EGIA's utility and government sponsored programs that leverage EGIA’s core competency with contractor outreach and support. Ed also manages UtilityExchange.org, an EGIA affiliate which produces Home Energy Makeover Contests and in-person & web-based activities where utilities, energy-related organizations and contractors can learn and network regarding energy efficiency, renewable energy, customer service, marketing, sales, and enhanced business operations.
Ed is Secretary of the non-profit Utility Energy Forum, Inc., serves on the Board of the Home Performance Resource Center, and is Chair of the Marketing Best Practices Committee for Efficiency First. Before joining EGIA, Ed was Managing Partner of Market Development Group, an energy efficiency marketing consultancy, and Manager of Intermountain Energy, a subsidiary of the Delta-Montrose Electric Association cooperative that installed geothermal heat pumps. Ed held marketing management positions with MainStreet Networks, Volt VIEWtech, and the Edison Electric Institute. Ed earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana; and a master’s degree in Marketing from The American University, Washington, DC.

- Becky Howarth - Director, Utility & Water Services
Becky Howarth is EGIA’s Director of Utility & Water Services. Becky manages EGIA administered energy efficiency and water conservation programs sponsored by electric & gas utilities, water agencies and municipalities. Utility & Water Services serves as the primary contact for resource efficiency program sponsors. Becky is responsible for overall client satisfaction and program success and is tasked with ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service, building strong long-term business relationships and achieving program sponsor goals while operating within the programs overall budget.

- Jeff Matulich - Director, Marketing Communications
As Director of Marketing Communications, Jeff is responsible for indentifying, developing and evaluating EGIA’s marketing activities to ensure maximize awareness of EGIA and its various contractor, homeowner, partner, utility and government programs. In addition, Jeff is also responsible directing and overseeing EGIA’s corporate brand identity. Prior to EGIA, Jeff worked at Liquid Agency, one of Silicon Valley’s leading brand marketing agencies, where he managed high-level marketing and branding initiatives for clients such as Intel, Logitech, LSI, Adidas and Visa. Jeff graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Business Administration.

- Jeremy Chandler - Director, Financing Services
Jeremy Chandler as EGIA’s Director of Financing Services focuses on educating contractors on EGIA’s exclusive consumer financing programs. Financing Services is the main point of contact for all contractors interested in utilizing EGIA’s financing programs. Financing Services is responsible for setting contractors up to participate in EGIA’s financing programs, training them on how to use the programs, and following up to make certain participating contractors have all the tools necessary to fully integrate financing into their sales process and make investing in home and business resource efficiency upgrades more affordable for their customers.

- Michael Trexel - Director, Information Technology
Michael Trexel joined EGIA in 1999 and directs EGIA’s Information Technology (IT) Department. IT is responsible for managing and maintaining EGIA’s network of computers and servers including the firewall, domain, exchange, web, file, print, application, SQL and accounting servers. In addition to being EGIA’s webmaster, Michael is also EGIA’s Database Systems Manager for the financing and rebate processing divisions of EGIA and is responsible for the daily operations, technological security, and integrity of the database system. Before coming to EGIA, Michael worked for Packard Bell NEC as an IT Specialist.
